Heading back to Vegas (And like and like Big Jimmy Walker I'm gonna get my money back!)

There may be no better feeling than planning a Vegas Trip. This one came together pretty quickly - a fortunate convergence of a break in my new bride's schedule from studying for her masters degree, plenty of vacation days in my account, a great offer arriving in the mail from the Venetian and a sweet bonus check from busting my ass last quarter.

We'll be arriving early on Sunday the 19th of August and staying until late in the day on the 22nd. That feels like it should be about the perfect amount of time. The general plan is morning poker tournaments, afternoon's sightseeing and poolside, some good dinners and shows (probably Phantom) and then some late night drinking and gambling.

The guys from the Isle of Man are in town then - so I'm expecting at least one rowdy get together with them, our hosts, mofobes and whoever else is around.

One quick question - has anyone done the Hoover Dam tour? - seems like it might be a reasonable way to spend 1/2 day - but I wanted to check.

Unlike the Aussies - I have learned in my three earlier trips that I cannot last four days only gambling and drinking. So I am trying to break up my usual pattern of arriving at 8:00 - drinking by 10:00 - drunk by noon - and a dented bankroll by 7PM. It's not the drinking I'm worried about so much as the bankroll. I'd rather not be playing nickel slots by Tuesday.

Train i'm jealous! Wish I going back to Vegas soon, if I was I definately wouldn't go to Hoover Dam. I think it would be a 1/2 day wasted by not gambling or drinking. Besides it's just a big old slab of concrete & some water, what's the big deal?
